For the fourth year running, groups of masked and heavily armed young men and women could be found last night wandering in groups around the piazzas and narrow streets of Barga Vecchia.
The local population, as usual, offered no cries of alarm or signs of dismay at being invaded as by now they had become used to this annual event...yes, the Live Role Players had once more camped in Barga.
This year more than 150 will be using the Castle as a living backdrop to their Live Role Games. Cardboard swords, yes, but no less real the concentration and energy spent by the players.
