It was neck and neck all day between Francesco Feniello and Caterina Campani as the votes were counted.
At one point with 50 % of the votes cast there was just 5 votes separating them but as the afternoon drew to a close, the final result was announced ….. the new mayor of Barga was Caterina Campani.
There then followed a series of quick phone calls, tables were prepared in the piazza, bottles were put under ice, musicians tuned up their instruments and the party was on.
The piazza very quickly filled up with Caterina Campani, her winning team and many supporters all enjoying their moment of victory.
