La Chewingum Rock Blues Band si formò nel 1977 dal disciolto gruppo “Jean Pierre Dany” ed era inizialmente composta da Loriano Bertuccelli (batteria e voce), Daniele Micheli (chitarra e voce), Marco Poleschi ( tastiere e voce), Massimo Capanni (basso e voce).
Il loro genere “ballabile” era legato alle cover delle hit parade ed ai pezzi tipici da “night”, assai richiesti. Molto apprezzata era la voce di Loriano che riproduceva fedelmente quella di Fred Bongusto. Esordirono allo Jo-Jo a Fornoli per poi continuare in locali come la Caravella di Forte dei Marmi, la Mecca di Marina di Massa, il Saitta di Loana, la Casina Rossa di Lucca, la Bussola di Focette, il Golden Boy di Lunata, il Gattopardo di Prato, il P4 di Recco, l’hotel Orizzonte di Varazze e molti altri locali in Liguria, Toscana e Umbria.
Nel 1979 il tastierista venne sostituito da Urbano Giulianetti detto il “bimbo”. Urbano col suo hammond veniva da una lunga esperienza, anche internazionale, con i Milionari.
Nel marzo del 1982, con la crisi della musica live e il boom dei dj nelle discoteche, la band decise di sciogliersi, anche se i 4 componenti mantennero viva una salda amicizia. Fu così che nel 2017 si riunirono per dare vita a una nuova sfida con un rinomato repertorio. Con le particolari sonorità dell’organo hammond, sfruttate sapientemente dal tastierista “Bimbo” la band si è dedicata così a riesumare pezzi rock e blues di tipo classico andando a scomodare mostri sacri come Eric Clapton, Creedence Cleawater Revival, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Brian Auger, Procol Harum,, Black Sabbath, ma anche icone del rock italiano quali le Orme, New Trolls, Osanna.
Incidono così il loro primo cd. Nell’ottobre del 2018 alla batteria è subentrato Claudio Orsi.
La band si è esibita in vari spettacoli e concerti, molti dei quali dedicati ad iniziative di solidarietà a favore di organizzazioni no-profit come Emergency o l’orfanatrofio Cottolenghi di Nairobi, Arrivata la pandemia ed il lockdown, impossibilitata a tenere concerti dal vivo, la band si è chiusa in sala d’incisione per registrare “Our Best”, un nuovo doppio cd.

The Chewingum Rock Blues Band was formed in 1977 from the disbanded group “Jean Pierre Dany” and initially consisted of Loriano Bertuccelli (drums and vocals), Daniele Micheli (guitar and vocals), Marco Poleschi (keyboards and vocals), and Massimo Capanni (bass and vocals).
Their music, geared towards danceable tunes, focused on covers of chart-topping hits and popular “nightclub” songs, which were highly in demand. Loriano’s voice, which closely resembled that of Fred Bongusto, was particularly admired. They debuted at Jo-Jo in Fornoli and went on to perform at venues such as La Caravella in Forte dei Marmi, La Mecca in Marina di Massa, Saitta in Loano, Casina Rossa in Lucca, La Bussola in Focette, Golden Boy in Lunata, Gattopardo in Prato, P4 in Recco, Hotel Orizzonte in Varazze, and many other locations across Liguria, Tuscany, and Umbria.
In 1979, the keyboardist was replaced by Urbano Giulianetti, nicknamed “Bimbo.” Urbano, with his Hammond organ, brought extensive experience, including an international career with the Milionari.
In March 1982, amidst the decline of live music and the rise of DJs in nightclubs, the band decided to disband, though the four members maintained a strong friendship. In 2017, they reunited to take on a new challenge with a refined repertoire. Thanks to the distinctive sound of the Hammond organ, expertly played by “Bimbo,” the band focused on reviving classic rock and blues tracks, paying homage to legends such as Eric Clapton, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Brian Auger, Procol Harum, Black Sabbath, as well as iconic Italian rock bands like Le Orme, New Trolls, and Osanna.
In 2018, they released their first CD. In October of the same year, Claudio Orsi joined the band as the new drummer.
The band has performed in various shows and concerts, many of which supported charitable initiatives for non-profit organisations such as Emergency and the Cottolengo Orphanage in Nairobi. During the pandemic and lockdown, unable to perform live, the band retreated to the recording studio to produce Our Best, a new double CD..
