Back in August of last year, technicians were busy at work checking the walls of the centuries old Duomo here in Barga trying to find out the exact location of a hole or crack somewhere on the front wall which was allowing rainwater to seep into the stonework causing damp patches and even forming large puddles on the inside of the Duomo during heavy rain (full article with images here)
Further investigations were carried out during the winter months as it had been very difficult to pinpoint the exact site of the problem.
This afternoon scaffolding was erected outside and above the main doorway into the Duomo and finally work has started to resolve the problem.
