An exhibition opened this afternoon in the headquarters of the associazione Lucchesi nel Mondo situated on the historical walls of Lucca above the Porta San Pietro.
The initiative is part of series of events entitled “Una porta per l’Arte” sponsored by the association, with the contribution by the Cassa di Risparmio di Pistoia and Lucca and with the invaluable assistance of Anna Garibotti.
The name of this first exhibition is INCONTRI – meetings and includes the work of the following artists: Alvaro Bei, Sergio Betti, Paulyr Buhler, Gudrun Burgstaller, Antonietta Capecchi, Lorenzo D’Angiolo, Alexander Daniloff, Giuseppe Del Debbio, David Finkbeiner, Anna Garibotti, Michaela Kasparova, Keane, Lilly Jannet, Eleonora Rossi, Armando Scaramucci, Pietro Soriani and Paolo Vannucci.
The exhibition includes paintings of nine of the bas relief figures on the Duomo in Barga which were last shown to the public back in 2014 in Barga (article here) These images were also included on the posters and publicity for the event.
The exhibition will remain open until the 6th January 2016
La casermetta sopra Porta san Pietro, presso le mura urbane di Lucca, ospiterà una mostra di diciassette artisti, dal 5 dicembre al 6 gennaio. L’ orario di apertura e’ dalle due e mezzo alle cinque del pomeriggio, ad eccezione del lunedì e del martedì, giorni in cui la mostra resterà chiusa. Lo spazio espositivo e’ stato offerto dall’ Associazione ” Lucchesi nel mondo” . Le opere sono pittoriche e scultoree. La mostra ha un sapore internazionale, infatti oltre agli artisti toscani sono presenti molti autori stranieri, che hanno scelto Lucca o la sua campagna come dimora.
