The spring has finally arrived ?

Officially it is now spring as we have passed the spring equinox –  the moment in time in which equal amounts of the sun’s energy reaches the northern and southern hemisphere so we sent out photographers to see if they could capture signs that what has been one of the worst winters for many years is finally over.

As you can hear in the short recording below, the birds were out and singing in the trees and fields around Barga.

Blackbirds and wood pigeons can be clearly heard and also right at the beginning of the recording in the distance the unmistakable sound of a woodpecker hammering on a tree somewhere up in the woods.

The sun was out and insects where starting to move around, maybe, just maybe, the spring might just have started.
