We published an article last year about Robert Nardini who had just completed his thesis and been presented with his degree in public social and business communications in the historic Palazzo Ricci Facolta di lettre University of Pisa.
Roberto is well known in the city as one of staff at the very successful restaurant the Altana in Barga Vecchia and also for his work on local radio but for the past three years he has also been studying at the University of Pisa. (article here)
The subject of his thesis was none other that this website, barganews.com and the story behind its creation starting with the barganews.com site in 1996 which then merged with the giornale di barga website in April of this year to form the present site (article here)
Times move on and so do people with the will to move.
This year Roberto can no longer be found working at the Altana, in fact he has moved farther afield and is now living in Lisbon, Portugal and taking part in the Erasmus project.
The Erasmus Programme (EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students), a.k.a. Erasmus Project is a European Union (EU) student exchange programme established in 1987. It forms a major part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme 2007–2013, and is the operational framework for the European Commission’s initiatives in higher education.
The Erasmus Programme, together with a number of other independent Programmes, was incorporated into the Socrates programme established by the European Commission in 1994. The Socrates programme ended on 31 December 1999 and was replaced with the Socrates II Programme on 24 January 2000, which in turn was replaced by the Lifelong Learning Programme 2007–2013 on 1 January 2007.
The Programme is named after the Dutch philosopher Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam, known as an opponent of dogmatism, who lived and worked in many places in Europe to expand his knowledge and gain new insights, and who left his fortune to the University of Basel in Switzerland.
But that does not mean that he has been struck silent – in fact quite the reverse.
He is now broadcasting each week on Fridays at 16.30 an hour long program on RadioEcho with music and opinions from Lisbon – Lost in Erasmus from Lisbona
Stay tuned.
