After their success at the Lake Angels Soul Festival this summer (article here) the Joana Pocket Band returned to Barga to play the Barga Jazz Club. Instead of Francesco Massagli on keyboards this time the line included Massimo Rapezzi on keyboards and Martino Biondi on bass.
Inspiring vocals from Joana Paolinelli, solid backline drumming from JJ and some incredible guitar work from Alessio Bertani. (The last time I personally heard a chopping guitar sound coming from a guitar similar to this evenings performance it was in the hands of Wilko Johnson, famed guitarist of Dr Feelgood, the Solid Senders and Ian Dury’s Blockheads
