The 19th Annual Solidarity Week organised by the Comune of Barga and the GVS got off to a rousing start this evening with the concert by the Coro Alpi Apuane. The male voice choir from Pieve Fosciana performed a dozen songs ranging from traditional, local and even show tunes- all with that light but the firm touch that the Direttore Luca Bacci manages to impart to the proceedings.
As the Proposto Don Stefano commented on stage at the end of the show as he thanked the choir – ” these days when people often talk about “communication” – here is a fine example of communicating a larger picture, a more profound series of emotions through music”
The Coro were first recorded on barganews back in 2001 – the 2nd June 2001 for the Festa della Repubblica to be precise … here
Nella quiete della verde Garfagnana, splendida vallata toscana situata fra le aspre vette delle marmoree Alpi Apuane ed il dolce e maestoso Appennino Tosco Emiliano, nacque nel 1973 a Pieve Fosciana in provincia di Lucca, il Coro Alpi Apuane. L’iniziativa della costituzione fu presa da alcuni appassionati della montagna e del canto popolare ad essa collegato, fra cui Don Giuliano Salotti, che ne è stato per molti anni il direttore e l’animatore delle principali attività .
Attualmente il coro è diretto dal giovane musicista di Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Luca Bacci, solista di flauto, direttore di coro e di orchestra, compositore e valido ricercatore di musica sacra antica.
