A wonderful image arrived in the offices of barganews today from New York. At the first glance it appears to be one of those old cinema posters from sometime in the 60s with faded, scratched edges and streaked with cheap flour paste glue. The film is called “Matrimonio All’Italiana” and was shot on location in Barga, Grifoglia and Venice ? Hmmm, upon closer inspection some of those names seem strangely familiar – catering by the L’Osteria and soundtrack by Aristo Casciani ?
A great Cinemascope Technicolor piece of graphics from Ralph Spiegal and Laura Marsh who married here in Barga back in March
A round of applause from Barga

Today was the first day of spring. Even though the overcast skies and cool wind over Barga seemed to deny that fact – there was definitely spring in the air this morning as the first of the spring marriage ceremonies took place in Barga Vecchia. Two visters to Barga from New York, USA; Laura Marsh and Ralph Spiegel took their vows in the historic Palazzo Pancrazi before moving on to a small reception at the L’Osteria in Piazza Angelio. Their movement through Piazza Salvi did not go unnoticed by the eagle eyed Aristodemo Casciani who burst into song with the Wedding March to help celebrate the occasion.
As the Americans say… AWESOME!!!
