The festa finished on Saturday in Barga Vecchia (article here) but it is looking more and more like the final effects from the party will last a good deal longer. In the article from Saturday we wrote " Children (of all sizes) were in costume today and nobody was safe from the confetti or spray. Adults, children, dogs even women in fur coats were liberally covered in foam by groups of screaming children enjoying the cries of their victims as today anything goes – all is possible." What they didn't know was that the spray that they were so liberally spraying around would leave other more permanent marks on Barga Vecchia.
Five days after all was cleared up the coloured marks from the very strong oil based pigment used in the spray can still be seen over some of Barga Vecchia. Residents are now waiting, with some anxiety, for rain to fall on the city to see if nature can deal with this problem. If that does not do the trick then a task force armed with steam cleaners has already been organised by the Lake Angels. Let's hope this will not be necessary. One thing is for sure though – this will be the last time you will see those particular sprays being used inside the castle.
