The Barga Jazz Big Band takes
Barga by storm.
With the ever dulcet tones of Barbara Casini lilting through the warm
August night, the Barga Jazz Big Band brought the Piazza to its
feet after a 3 hour romp through some of the classics of big
band music. The main road, usually full of honking cars, was
replaced by tables and hundreds of seated people enjoying the
music. Standing room only in the rest of the piazza. A free plate of pasta served by amongst
others, the Mayor, Vice Mayor and members of the council finished
off the evening in high style. Some members of the audience were
overheard asking if "they had died and gone to heaven"
...no, not heaven but still a night to remember. |
